How to change language in Azure Health Bot using Whatsapp as a channel?

We are developing a Chat solution using Azure Health Bot

I'm using Whatspp (Twilio) as an access channel for end users.

What I want is to provide the users a language selection and based on their selection localization language would be set.

Azure Health Bot provide Localization feature But I can't find anywhere How to change the language programmatically (from designer/using script).

If there is a way to change the locale in runtime based on user selection this would solve my problem

This is in the documentation:

Setting locales in the webchat container sample To set the locale using the webchat you can pass the locale variable when using the webchat container sample code On the webpage that displays the container sample pass the locale as a URL parameter. For example: https://<your_website_name>.azurewebsites.net?locale=es-es will set the webchat to work in Spanish. Other channels can work differently. The channel you use will determine how to pass the locale variable to the bot at runtime.

@Evgeny Grishchenko Thanks for your help, Documentation only talk about Web Chat and saying method could differ for each access channel, and not mentioning anywhere else how to set the language with Whatsapp as access channel.

Thanks for the details, you’re looking to change the language of your Azure Health Bot programmatically based on user selection. However, it appears that the conversation.locale variable in Azure Health Bot is read-only and cannot be set programmatically<sup>.</sup>

As an alternative, you might consider using the Conversational Language Understanding feature of Azure AI Health Bot. This feature allows you to create a new language model and select the primary utterance language. Here are the steps to do so:

Sign in to the Language Studio with your Azure credentials.

Go to Language -> Models -> Add New Language Model.

Select Method -> Conversational Language Understanding.

Copy all the Prediction URL parameters.
