NEW Teams (2.0) - Dropping calls

We're on semi-annual channel and as per MS schedule Teams 2.0 is the default end of January 2024. To be on the front foot we pushed organisation wide the availability of new teams toggle allowing users to change over. This was done by setting the Teams Update policy Default (org-wide) to Microsoft controlled. The ICT support team is now receiving several reports about calls dropping out, speaking with a few pilot users for teams 2.0 they have been encountering random drop outs or when answering calls the call answers then immediately drops. I've been on new teams since release and have encountered issues answering queue calls with same answer and is dropped immediately. Now with new teams available org wide this issue has scaled up to around 4% of the org users encountering call dropping issues including upper management. This is a problem and there seems to be nothing mentioned about this. When checking call/meeting diagnostics in TAC nothing shows. We've checked local network e.g. WAP logs and no drop outs. This appears to occur at the application level as switching back to classic teams calls stabilize. 2 questions: A) Are other organisations encountering this issue? B) How can Microsoft be pushing new teams end of Jan 2024 when it is not stable in handling the most basic function - calls?

Hi @Ian L According to our research, some users are also experiencing this problem. And there are a few possible solutions that you can try:

    • Check and update if the Microsoft Teams is the latest version.
    • Clear the Teams cache from your device.
    • If you’re using the Teams desktop or mobile app, try using the web version: https://teams.microsoft.com/.

Microsoft has announced the general availability of Teams 2.0 for Windows and Mac in October 2023, and has provided a schedule for different update channels and cloud offerings. However, some features and functionalities may not be fully supported or available in Teams 2.0 yet. Microsoft is working on fixing the known issues and adding more features to Teams 2.0 in the upcoming releases. Meanwhile, to solve the issue more quickly, we recommend you give the feedback in Teams UserVoice. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.

After a month or so this issue appears to have resolved likely from app updates as no longer receiving frequent reports of this issue type anymore.
