Outlook 2013 - Can not set an email account using google MX in windows remote session
[Original post]
Hello,
I have a domain name that uses google MX records.
I am trying to configure an email account under outlook 2013 on my remote session on a windows 2016 server
I prepared the add of the account by following the guide below:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/Exchange/mailbox-migration/migrating-imap-mailboxes/prepare-gmail-or-g-suite-accounts?redirectSourcePath=%252fen-us%252foffice%252fb650957d-4446 -425a-ab78-01b89cbead93
The fault encountered that from my windows remote session, the auto-configuration does not succeed
I have the error message below:
"An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click next to attempt using an unencrypted connection."
Again the manual configuration crashes at the smtp server
"send test e-mail message: none of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server"
I checked the box checking the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" but it does not work.
I tested the different encryption configurations TLS, SSL 25, 587, 465 : it does not work.
But when I configured my address on my Mac and PC it works properly: my account was auto-configured, I no longer needed to enter the IMAP and SMTP parameters.
The fault remains present only on my windows remote session.
Do you have any idea?
