I tried to shut down my PC many times but a message appears telling me that a program is preventing your PC from being shut down. the program does not have any name or any specific icon that I can use to recognise it and I used the windows event viewer to find the program but I couldn't find anything but Windows event viewer gave me some information that I can share with you and I hope you will help me. thanks for your cooperation in advance.

    Hi MennoSaedi,

Did you try to use the Windows Task Manager -> Details Section? You'll be able to see all the running applications there. Sort it Using the CPU Usage descending order or try Memory Usage descending order.

You search for Resource Monitor from the Start Menu and view similar information but in details even disk usage and Network usage of currently running applications.

I think you'll be able to find needed information. If you identify the application that you are not using actively you can kill it by Right click (RMB) on that and choosing "End Process" or "End Process Tree". End Process option will only kill the application you RMB on. If you choose "End Process Tree" it will kill the application you RMB on and its parent processes also.

I hope these information helps you to find your solution.
