Azure portal login issue when accessing Microsoft Learn Sandbox

I am enrolled in a Microsoft Learn module where I created an Azure Learn Sandbox account to complete the exercises. However, when prompted to create my own Azure subscription, I received an error stating that my account does not exist in the 'Microsoft Learn Sandbox' tenant. I used my training email to log in, and I don't want to create a new email just for this account. Is it possible to use my existing email, and if so, how can I delete the Microsoft Learn Sandbox directory?

    Hi Ronald James,

Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A forum.

To troubleshoot this problem, you can try the following steps:

1.Log out from all tabs in your current browser and clear cache files. Then, try logging in again using your learn ID credentials.

2.Sign out of your current browser login and try logging in from an incognito window or private browsing mode.

3.Alternatively, switch to a different browser and attempt the login process again.

Note: According to Microsoft documentation, it's not possible to delete the Microsoft Learn Sandbox directory. When the sandbox is deactivated, Automatically the directory won't appear in the Azure portal anymore.

When you register for Microsoft Azure cloud services, Microsoft automatically assigns a default directory for you, which is essentially an instance of Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID).

During exercises in the Azure learning path, make sure to follow the instructions provided to create an Azure sandbox.

    Important points to remember:

1.If you have two accounts in the directory, the Azure portal will access the Default Directory. 2.When following the Azure sandbox learning path, ensure that you have selected the sandbox account before creating resources in the portal.

This problem may be down to user error and browser type.

When going through the module excerises you obviously want to access the portal whilst still having the exercise page open for you to work through.

If you're using an alternative browser to edge (Chrome/Firefox/etc...) right clicking on the portal link and opening in a new tab will open the portal in a new tab (obviously) but this is disconnected from your current session in the previous tab. You will still be logged into your account the new tab but you will not be within the current session that MS learn is currently in.

If you simply click the link, it will automatically open in a new tab and preserve the session in this new tab.

Looks like a security feature on MS learn conflicting with browser behaviour?
