Teams no longer allows me to log in

I've been using teams at work for about 2 months now without any issues. We've been working from home for the last week, and initially I still did not have any issues.

Our corporate VPN started taking strain from the increased load, and a new alternative corporate VPN was provided which could handle the load.

When I connected to the new VPN teams would not log in, but if I switched back to the old slow VPN it would work.

However since Wednesday afternoon teams has refused to log me in even on the old VPN. And I get this contradictory error screen:

teams-err.png

It keeps asking me to sign in. Then it takes me to "My Organization's Sign-In page" Asks me to 2FA which I do. And then goes to the screenshot you see above.
So it cannot be that I am not typing in the correct username/password otherwise it would not ask for 2FA.

I have set the following environment variables (which work for all other programs) to connect to our network proxy when on VPN/corporate network:

http_proxy
https_proxy
HTTP_PROXY
HTTPS_PROXY

But when teams starts up I see it never hits our proxy server, but one college on Linux, who's teams is working did connect to the proxy.

My colleagues who use both windows and Linux have said they can use teams on either VPN, and some can even use it from their home internet (not on corporate network).

I have tried reinstalling teams multiple times (including making sure config files are deleted)

Logging in on a browser sometimes works (but I have to allow 3rd party cookies which reduces security, and is not an ideal solution since I can't do audio or video calls)

My Setup:

Hardware: Dell Precision 3530
OS: Arch Linux

Please advise.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Update:

After doing an strace on teams to see if I could find anything I realised running teams with sudo made it work.

But this was short lived. After about 3 times of starting it up, it refused to work again whenever I launch teams with sudo giving the below error each time I try that:

2020-03-20-10-53.png

Then I uninstalled teams again and deleted all the files in ~/.config/Microsoft/Microsoft Teams/

I reinstalled it and ran it again. After logging in I got this error:

teams-err.png

Here is a link to the contents of the logs.txt file (the attachments don't work) : https://pastebin.fun/9LbjyT0Gkj

Running it once again as root I got a similar error compared to last time. Except now it says:

desktop-a13e52f1-9ec6-4224-a15a-54d868b05968
Error code - online_check_failed: exceeded retry attempts
Failed to connect to settings endpoint

I am starting to suspect that my account has been blacklisted for some reason. Is there a way to check?

Maybe you can try if you can log in normally in Teams for Windows.

Hi, I won't have access to a windows machine for at least 3 weeks. Our country is in lockdown at the moment, and I won't be able to meet up with any of my colleges who use windows until that is over. But I will try that once I get a chance.

Hi, most of the time I can log in on the web client. But not all of the time.

Hi StephanSnyman-5956!
Does anyone else can login in normally on the old VPN?
Does the new VPN still cannot login in normally?
According to your description, this issue seems to be related to network settings in the Teams organization. We recommend you check your proxy server meet the following article’s requirements. For more details, you can refer to:

Hi JimmyYang-8258, others can successfully log in via both the new and the old VPN. So if they can log in, then I'm sure our proxy server is configured correctly.
