Dear community

I am following this tutorial https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-explorer/azure-data-explorer-dashboards#share-dashboards and trying to shae a dashbaord created in Azure Data Explorer, however, when adding members, either with view or edit rights, the former cannot open the shared dashboard, receiving the error:

"Error loading dashboard "xyz". You are not authorized to view dashboard".

Is there anytihng in addition to what explained in the tutorial that is needed?

Note that I am using the free Azure Data Explorer cluster.

Many thanks in advance.

Best.

@Matteo Traina - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

It is possible that the issue you are experiencing is related to permissions. When you share a dashboard in Azure Data Explorer, you need to ensure that the users you are sharing it with have the appropriate permissions to view or edit the dashboard.

To troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend the following steps:

    • Check the permissions of the users you are sharing the dashboard with. Ensure that they have been granted the appropriate permissions to view or edit the dashboard. You can do this by navigating to the Azure portal, selecting your Azure Data Explorer cluster, and selecting the "Access control (IAM)" tab.
    • Check the permissions of the dashboard itself. Ensure that the dashboard has been shared with the appropriate users and that they have been granted the appropriate permissions to view or edit the dashboard. You can do this by navigating to the Azure portal, selecting your Azure Data Explorer cluster, and selecting the "Dashboards" tab.
    • Ensure you have adequate permissions. If you don't, you'll get a response of unauthorized. For more information about permissions, see Manage database permissions. If necessary, work with your cluster administrator so they can add you to the appropriate role.

If you are still experiencing issues after following these steps, please provide more information about your Azure Data Explorer cluster and dashboard configuration so that we can further troubleshoot the issue.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
