So I have an on premise physical machine and I want to monitor the connection between that machine and virtual machines that are in azure that the machine is supposed to be able to connect to. We have our on premise network peered with our azure cloud network. I have added the agents but when I go to connection monitor, I cannot get a test to work. I have tried TCP and HTTP test but I keep getting it stuck in indeterminate. I just realized that my virtual machines are located in the USWest3 region. I know network watcher it not supported in West3 region. is this the cause?

When I went to look for the documentation I saw it was for network performance monitor which is a separate tool.

I installed the MMA agent of the Log analytics workspace agent. I know it is being depreciated but the documentation I found seemed to direct me to that. I know there is the Azure monitor windows agent. Is that one more reliable and would I be able to use it for my case above? I'm looking to specifically monitor a connection between the on premise workstation and an azure VM.

I do not currently have access to the device on prem but yes It does connect to the workspace. I have also been able to verify this in the logs in azure.
My issue is pictured below. I have met all the requirements but the device is listed as indeterminate. When clicking the connection monitor I have setup, I see the nothing to display because the tests are not running properly.

How many Connection Monitors have you created? (using the same OnPrem machine)

Are you facing the issue with every Connection Monitor.

Based on your screenshots, I am not sure how you concluded this issue is caused by the OnPrem agent and not something else.

Is this a new set up or was this previously working but suddenly resulted in this issue.

In case of a new setup, can you delete and recreate this connection monitor?

Generally, if you were able to select the OnPrem Agent via the "Non-Azure EndPoints", it means that the OnPrem server is visible to Azure

Is the OnPrem server running 24*7, because

While monitoring endpoints, Connection monitor reevaluates the status of endpoints once every 24 hours. Hence, in case a VM gets deallocated or is turned-off during a 24-hour cycle, Connection monitor would report an indeterminate state due to absence of data in the network path until the end of the 24-hour cycle before reevaluating the status of the VM and reporting the VM status as deallocated.

Please create a new connection monitor and share the details of the TestGroup configurations.
