What error message do you get?
Are you sure that you are using the correct IP address? Why do you want to use an IP address? If you are using DHCP, the address may change. Is there an event in the security eventlog when the error occurs? Are all machines members of the same active directory domain? Are you logged in with a local account or an active directory account?
