    Hello

This error code usually means "Network Path Not Found" (Network Path Not Found), indicating that there is a problem at the network level when trying to communicate with the AD or file sharing server. Here are some troubleshooting steps for this issue:

    1. Basic network check:

IP configuration: Confirm that the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway settings of the temporary replacement server are correct and are in the same subnet as the AD server and target file sharing server.

DNS settings: Make sure the staging server's preferred DNS server is set to the IP address of the AD domain controller so that the domain names of the AD services and file sharing servers are correctly resolved.

Firewall: Check the Windows Firewall settings on the staging server to ensure that inbound and outbound rules allow traffic related to AD and file sharing (such as TCP/UDP ports 88, 389, 445, etc.). Temporarily turn off the firewall for testing to eliminate interference from firewall rules.

    1. Troubleshooting AD joining issues:

AD service availability: Use the ping command to test the network connectivity to the domain controller to ensure that the ping can be successful. If the ping fails, check whether there are port blocks or ACL restrictions on network devices (such as switches and routers).

AD domain name resolution: Use the nslookup command to verify whether the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the AD domain can be correctly resolved. For example: nslookup your.domain.com

Make sure the parsing results return the correct IP address.

AD connection test: Use the nltest command to test the connection to the AD domain. For example:

    nltest /dsgetdc:your.domain.com

If the connection is successful, the domain controller information will be displayed.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
