    Hello,

    Here's a troubleshooting checklist:

    1. ping <QNAP_NAS_IP_ADDRESS>, to verify if your pc can communicate with NAS.
    2. Access the QNAP NAS admin console, check any settings there, ensure that NAS shares are configured and set to allow access from your Windows.
    3. Enable network discovery and file sharing (Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center) for public or private networks
    4. Check Windows Firewall settings to ensure rules are in place to allow inbound/outbound SMB traffic. You can create an exception for the SMB protocol or temporarily disable the firewall to test.
    5. Manually map the QNAP NAS share to your Windows PC by going to File Explorer, right-clicking 'This PC' or 'Computer', selecting 'Map network drive', and entering the path in the format \\<QNAP_NAS_IP_ADDRESS>\<share_name>.

Sorry no I still have the same problen.

Also managed to get a session online with so called Microsoft "help" 2 hours later although it looked as though the problem had been solved by a new profile but as soon as PC rebooted problem returned. Still cannot see Nas's on network in file manager.

Microsoft using useless call center. Quite obvious the person did not know what he was doing.

Hi there 31driver, I apologize for the inconvenience :(. I'll do my best to assist you here.

Issue recurre after reboot suggests that some configurations that are being reset or not loaded properly upon startup.

I could consider the following general steps:

    • Use Task Manager to manage startup applications. Disable any recently added or suspicious applications that might interfere with network connections or NAS visibility.
    • Use services.msc to check for services related to network, sharing, or the NAS devices. Ensure they are set to start automatically and are running without errors.
    • Use the Credential Manager (Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager) to manage stored credentials for the NAS. Remove any old or incorrect entries, then add new ones with the proper username and password for the NAS shares.

    Hello

Checked all your advice above nothing shows wrong.

I think I forgot to tell you.

If I look in task manager windows processes windows explorer is shown twice and is marked with a red icon with white cross inside. Tried restarting but that does nothing (though it did work once when it first failed). Also shown in task manager details.

Cannot map drive as drive not shown on network.
