Mail moved to shared public folders disappeared
I recently moved emails from a personal mailbox yesterday to a shared folder. They appeared to process fine, disappeared from the personal mailbox but have not appeared in the shared folder. They were being compiled to the public folder as we needed to compile them as part of a data compliance audit so losing them is a major problem.
For the most part the emails were drag and dropped from the personal folder to the shared folder. I have checked any 'adjacent' folder to ensure they were not accidentally dropped into the wrong public folder.
Diagnostics so far:
- I tried moving more emails again today and they appear fine in the public folder
- Folder view has no filters set
- The emails do not appear in recently deleted items in the personal folder or public folder
- The emails are missing when the public folder is viewed in Outlook desktop Ap, New Outlook Ap and Web Ap.
- The mails that are missing were dated in the last few months. The Public folder contains many older emails as well as the few I moved again today which are more recent, so does appear to be date or filter related.
Any other suggestions on how I can recover or access the missing emails?
