Not able to see all directories as a new "owner"

Hi, I am a new user with Owner role and I can only see one directory for all subscriptions.

I heard from other developer that there are multiple directories and that they are able to switch between directories. But, in my case I only see one directory. The other users have the same role as myself.

How is this possible?

    Hello Boban,

Thank you for posting this in the Microsoft Q&A Community.

From my understanding, you are not able to switch to a different tenant from the tenant to which your user account belongs.

Please be informed that having an Owner role on a Subscription doesn't permit you to switch to another tenant. To start with:

    • An Owner role on a Subscription only gives you access to create and manage the subscription, and resources deployed within the Subscription.
    • A subscription can only exist within a particular tenant (an Organization).

Follow this link to learn more about roles in Azure tenants.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/role-based-access-control/rbac-and-directory-admin-roles

The reason why you are not able to switch is that, your user account doesn't exist in the other tenants the same way your colleague accounts do. You need to be added to those tenants by being invited to the tenants as a guest account. Follow this link to learn more about Guest account invitations.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/external-id/b2b-quickstart-add-guest-users-portal#invite-an-external-guest-user

Once you have been invited to the tenant and you have accepted the invitation, you will be able to switch to those tenants.

Let me know if this helps.

    Babafemi
