Set-ExternalInOutlook cmdlet automatically turns from True to False

Hello everyone,

I am trying to run Set-ExternalInOutlook -Enabled $true on powershell. It does turn on when I check with cmdlet Get-ExternalInOutlook right away but after an hour or two it turns back to false.

Let me know what I am doing wrong.

Based on your description, I also tried to run Set-ExternalInOutlook -Enabled $true on powershell and use Get-ExternalInOutlook to check. This didn't happen to me. I think it could be the following：

If your organization already uses mail flow rules to add text to the subject line of messages from external senders, you should disable those rules before you enable this feature to avoid duplication. You could review all policies related to external email marking and ensure there are no conflicts. Also, you can try using a different admin account to run the cmdlets to check if it happens.
