Hi All

I was hoping someone could guide me in the right direction with this one. I was looking for an Intune policy (preferably) or registry key that can manage the "Download email for the past" setting for the devices joined to Azure. I want to be able to change the period to 3 months for everyone so the users will not be able to change this themselves. This is due to space/memory constraints.

I have tried this but it looks like its not working: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-allows-administrators-to-set-additional-default-mail-and-calendar-synchronization-windows-for-new-exchange-accounts-in-outlook-2016-f56b88ff-0f5f-71c3-f75c-ab30d8ffee79

    @Marcel Talmaggies,Thanks for posting in Q&A.

    From your description, I know you want to allow users to be able to download emails from the past 3 months by creating an Intune policy.

    According to talking to Outlook engineers I learnt that you could enable Outlook's Use Cached Exchange Mode to keep emails in the exchange server to extend the retention time of emails, and also, we can also create a configuration policy and select Settings catalog to enable this setting through Intune, however, Intune can only enable this setting at the moment, and you can't specify how long you want to keep your emails.

    If you want Intune to implement configure the length of time an email is saved, you can submit your feedback to Intune.

    Thanks for your kind understanding.

    hmmm at least u can create and configure email settings in Microsoft Intune.

    These settings include the connection settings used by your email app to access organization email.

    By creating and deploying an email profile, you can confirm settings are standard across many devices.

    If you’re unable to find a built-in policy that meets your needs, you might consider creating a custom policy.

    Azure Policy allows you to define your own rules for using Azure.
