SQL Server Report builder 3.0 - trying to remove prompts from an existing report

I am trying to edit some existing queries in Report builder 3.0 using query designer and the Filter tool. When I make simple changes like removing a prompt instruction or changing the date range to a relative date these appear to work, but then do not carry through to the report when I run it. The report saves fine and the changes remain in the filter tool, but they never make it through to the displayed report.

I've tried removing all filters from the report then adding one back in, but it still displays the original report format.

I'm sure there is something simple I am missing here, but after several hours of trying I am getting nowhere!

Perhaps dumb question, but are you publishing it back to the server, and with the same name (rather than just saving it locally)?

Could you please check if you have save the change and then preview the report in report builder? If possible you may provide the screenshot.

@Low, Greg - I am doing that, overwriting the original file. I've just tried saving it a s a new file under a different name, but it made no difference

@ZoeHui-MSFT Yes, when I preview the report in report builder I Get the same outcome, the prompts I have removed still come up. The result is the same whether I run the report inside or outside of Report Builder.

Are you using 3rd party component to filter the data? If yes, not sure if this could be related with it.

Hi @ZoeHui-MSFT - the short answer is that I am not sure. I suspect that we probably are, but I am no expert on the system. I use report builder to create and update queries that interface with a large historical database. I've been working with report builder for over 15 years, but when we upgraded to version 3.0 my company did not offer training, so I have been self-taught on the system since then. In the previous version I had no problem with this, but now I cannot seem to get certain elements of my reports to update - namely prompts and relative dates.

I realise this is probably not the most helpful thing, but i do appreciate any help you can offer - Thanks!
