What is the downtime for the platform, how much time it is going to take for Microsoft to bring up the different services in a different zone after we have enabled ZRS?

Hello Community,

I have few questions related to ZRS.

  1. Are there any configuration changes required on the different component on the application side once it is moved to a new zone or will it be taken care by Microsoft?
  2. What is the downtime for the platform, how much time it is going to take for Microsoft to bring up the different services in a different zone after we have enabled ZRS?
  3. If the whole region is down, what are the SLAs from Microsoft to bring the whole region up and running?

Q1: Are there any configuration changes required on the different component on the application side once it is moved to a new zone or will it be taken care by Microsoft?

When you move your application to a new zone using ZRS, there are typically no specific configuration changes required on the application side. ZRS is designed to handle the replication and failover of data within the Azure infrastructure without requiring application-level adjustments. Microsoft takes care of ensuring that data is synchronized across availability zones, allowing your application to continue functioning seamlessly

Q2: What is the downtime for the platform, how much time is it going to take for Microsoft to bring up the different services in a different zone after we have enabled ZRS?

In the event of an outage or failure in one zone, your application can automatically fail over to another zone without significant downtime.

Q3: If the whole region is down, what are the SLAs from Microsoft to bring the whole region up and running?
For ZRS, the industry-leading 99.99% SLA for VM availability ensures high reliability.
