I have a new VMM VM that had a shared vhd i created and placed on a CSV. I shutdown the VMM server and removed the shared disk from the VM and deleted the .vhdx. after rebooting the VMM vm, the host still shows the shared disk as a dependancy in VMM and wont allow migrations. I cannot figure out how to remove the dependacy to the missing disk or delete the disk references from VMM.

The issue just resolved itself overnight. I logged onto the VMM this morning to see the disk is now gone.

    Hi,

I understand that you’re facing an issue with an orphaned shared virtual disk in Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).

Here are some steps you can follow to remove the orphaned disk:

    1. Please check the job errors in the VMM console. User's image
    2. Remove Orphaned Resources: If a library share is removed from VMM management and there are templates that reference resources that were located on the library share, a representation of the library resource appears in the VMM library as an orphaned resource. To remove orphaned resources, modify the templates that reference the orphaned resources to use valid resources.
