@Huang, Winston-HR Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!

This below image will help you in increasing the Standard Azure File Share quota

    Animation

Azure Files geo-redundancy for large file shares significantly improves capacity and performance for standard SMB file shares when using geo-redundant storage (GRS) and geo-zone redundant storage (GZRS) options.

Azure Files has offered 100 TiB standard SMB shares for years with locally redundant storage (LRS) and zone-redundant storage (ZRS). However, geo-redundant file shares had a 5 TiB capacity limit and were sometimes throttled due to IO operations per second (IOPS) and throughput limits. Now, geo-redundant standard SMB file shares support up to 100 TiB capacity with significantly improved IOPS and throughput limits.

    Register for the feature

To get started, register for the feature using Azure portal or PowerShell. This step is required for regions that are generally available or in preview.

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal.
    2. Search for and select Preview features.
    3. Click the Type filter and select Microsoft.Storage.
    4. Select Azure Files geo-redundancy for large file shares and click Register.

For more information, refer to this article : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/files/geo-redundant-storage-for-large-file-shares?tabs=portal (Enable geo-redundancy and large file shares for standard SMB file shares)

Additional information: Azure Files doesn't support read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS) or read-access geo-zone-redundant storage (RA-GZRS). If a storage account is configured to use RA-GRS or RA-GZRS, the file shares will be configured as GRS or GZRS. The file shares won't be accessible in the secondary region unless a failover occurs.

    Hi,

Default is 5TB for standard shares. Once you enable large file shares you can increase this up to 100tb. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/files/storage-files-scale-targets?WT.mc_id=MVP_319025#azure-file-share-scale-targets

To enable large files in the portal follow these steps:

    1. Open the Azure portal, and navigate to the storage account where you want to enable large file shares.
    2. Select Configuration under the Settings section.
    3. Go to the Large file shares setting at the bottom of the page. If it's set to Disabled, change the setting to Enabled.
    4. Select Save.

    Info:

Attribute Standard file shares1 Premium file shares
Minimum size of a file share No minimum 100 GiB (provisioned)
Minimum size of a file share No minimum 100 GiB (provisioned)
Minimum size of a file share No minimum 100 GiB (provisioned)
    Provisioned size increase/decrease unit N/A 1 GiB
Maximum size of a file share 100 TiB, with large file share feature enabled25 TiB, default 100 TiB

2 Default on standard file shares is 5 TiB, see Create an Azure file share for the details on how to create file shares with 100 TiB size and increase existing standard file shares up to 100 TiB. To take advantage of the larger scale targets, you must change your quota so that it's larger than 5 TiB.

Hopefully this solves your problem. If it does, please mark as accepted answer.

    Dan

as i know, my storage account kind is StorageV2 (general purpose v2) and it's Replication is Read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS).

so, can i enable large file share to expand quota size for file share ?

If it's RA-GRS then you need to register for it:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/storage/files/geo-redundant-storage-for-large-file-shares?tabs=portal#register-for-the-feature

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal.
    2. Search for and select Preview features.
    3. Click the Type filter and select Microsoft.Storage.
    4. Select Azure Files geo-redundancy for large file shares and click Register.

Once registered you can enable large file shares:

    1. Enable the large file shares setting on your storage account.
    2. Optional: Increase the file share quota up to 100 TiB.
