Can you have two Entra IDs for two separate domains and a single tenant

We have a client that owns 2-3 domains under a single tenant. The parent company (companyA .com) and the child company (companyB.com) want to separate their Azure AD so companyB.com can be independent. They have 150 users in total all Azure AD joined.

CompanyA.com will be moving to a net new domain, (companyC.com) and companyB.com needs to leave the Azure AD on companyA.com with the idea they can eventually use companyA.com. (Sorry, I know this is confusing)

In the end, we need CompanyA.com to change to CompanyC.com without possibly interruptions and going forward, all net new users/computers will be on CompanyC.com (still under the single tenant).

Is that doable and if so, how, assuming that when the net new companyC.com is under the original onmicrosoft.com tenant, companyC.com will get it's own Entra ID/account?
