DPM 2022 agent install

Question

HI all,

there's a new server installed DPM 2022 there is a backup client server on OS 2008R2 The problem is that I can't install a client on it DPM earlier there was installed not the latest version of the agent, but by mistake it was deleted and now it is not installed because it says unsupported.

what can be done in this case?

It is very necessary to make backups from this server

Hi,

DPM 2016 and Semi-Annual Channel releases: 1801 and 1807 can back up Windows Server 2008 R2.

DPM 2022 only supports Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016.

DPM 2022 does not support protection for Windows Server 2008R2 so that is reason you might not be able to install the DPM agent on the old server.

There is no way to protect that server on DPM 2022, if you want you should use a separate server and install older DPM version and protect that server on it. Or you should upgrade the OS for windows server 2008R2 and bring it to the OS version which is supported on DPM 2022.
