Hi. I'm trying to setup Azure Synapse Link to our SQL Managed Instance and I'm having a hard time finding any documentations or walkthrough/howto on this. It seems like all docs and integration available is for Azure SQL Server only. Is this the case?

Do I need to setup synapse link like an on prem or external data source, which seems confusing given that our SQL Managed Instance lives in the same Azure subscription/account.

Using the SQL Server documentation, I'm able to make some progress and get to the step where you create the link connection where I'm able to connect to our SQL Managed Instance to select and preview the table/data, but I'm running into some issues that I suspect is due to the landing zone.

Error: The target linked service 'xxxxxxxx' is inaccessible due to 'Cannot connect to SQL database

    Hi @Vang Xiong

Please find FAQ document , as per the document, Azure Synapse Link is not supported for SQL MI.

Does Azure Synapse Link for SQL support Azure SQL Managed Instance as a source store?

No, currently Azure Synapse Link for SQL only supports Azure SQL Database and SQL Server (starting with SQL Server 2022) as the source.

    Thank You!
