I subscribed to the Azure Free Tier Account with my work email address, instead of Personal

Hi,

I accidentally subscribed to the "Free Tier Account" with my Microsoft Work Email Address rather than my personal email address, as it was already signed on in the background. Now, when I change to my personal, it says I can't sign up to a free tier account as I'm not eligible.

Can someone please help. I'm on my journey to learning the Azure Tech Stack.

Thanks.

    Hello Leandro Gomez,

Thank you for posting your query here!

Please note that if you sign up with an email belonging to a domain which has a verified AAD Tenant it will create your subscription under that Tenant, which can drastically reduce your privileges within the domain.

As you are a part of the domain you will be able to find yourself but only the global admin of the tenant can provide you with access to the resources by providing you with a specific role in the directory.

Since you are already part of an organizational domain, any subscriptions created using organization mail ids, would be assumed as child under that domain and since you do not possess the organizational domain admin privileges, you can’t go ahead to create any tenants/directories/New AAD under the newly created Free trail Sub.

In that case we have only two options to go with:

You can reach out to the domain admin of your organization who can help you in providing the required privileges.

Or you can create a different azure trial account with a personal email id.

To create a new free trial subscription, you need a unique phone number, a credit card, or a debit card (non-prepaid), and a Microsoft account or a GitHub account.

Do let us know if you have any further queries. I’m happy to assist you further.
