I am receiving errors when I attempt to discover Linux computers in SCOM 2019 console,

Is there a way to add Linux servers directly to the SCOM DB?

Many thanks.

    Dear Bixby,

Thank you for reaching out to the support team with your question about adding Linux computers to the SCOM database.

Unfortunately, you cannot add Linux servers directly to the SCOM database. However, you can discover and monitor Linux computers in SCOM by using the appropriate management packs and agents.

To discover Linux computers, you can use the UNIX/Linux Discovery Wizard in the SCOM console. This wizard will guide you through the process of discovering Linux computers in your network.

Once you have discovered the Linux computers, you can install the appropriate agents and management packs to monitor them. The agents for Linux are available in the SCOM 2019 management pack catalog. The management packs for Linux are also available in the catalog, and they provide monitoring for various Linux distributions and applications.

I hope this information helps you in adding and monitoring your Linux computers in SCOM.

    Best regards,

    Umar - Support Team
