Windows Bluetooth taking priority over Browser (Chrome) Bluetooth connection

First and moremost, has there been an update to Windows 11 that changes the behaviour of how bluetooth devices connect? If so, what is it? Secondly, I am trying to connect a device via my browser (Chrome) and do not wish to connect it via the Windows bluetooth devices menu. I'd like to only use the drop down that comes from the top left button inside the address bar. I used to be able to do this without any interrusption from Windows. Recently however it appears that Windows interrrupts my request to Chrome to connect the bluetooth device and tries to make me connect to Windows directly. This interruption is a prompt to connect via windows. Has anyone else had a similar issue, perhaps any software devlopers trying to connect their devices via the browser and not the OS? It also occurs in MS Edge. Thank you for reading.

    Hello

I understand your concerns about recent changes to Bluetooth connectivity on Windows 11. Unfortunately, we haven't found a solution to a similar problem, but we can try the following steps to troubleshoot:

Windows 11 Bluetooth Update: There have been some updates to Windows 11 that might have affected the behavior of Bluetooth devices. However, the specific details about these updates are not explicitly mentioned in the search results. It’s recommended to keep your Bluetooth drivers updated for optimal performance.

Bluetooth Connection via Browser: It seems you’re experiencing an issue where Windows 11 is taking priority over the browser for Bluetooth connections. This issue has been reported by other users as well. Unfortunately, the exact cause of this issue is not clear from the search results. It could be related to recent updates or changes in the system settings.

As a workaround, you might want to try the following steps:

Update Bluetooth Drivers: Make sure your Bluetooth drivers are up-to-date.

Reconnect the Device: Remove the device from Windows Bluetooth settings and then try reconnecting it via the browser.

Check Device Discovery Settings: In Windows Bluetooth settings, you can change the device discovery setting to ‘Advanced’ which displays all types of Bluetooth devices.

If the problem persists, you can try reporting this issue through the Feedback Center:
