Hi,

i habe a question about Third-party software updates and the superseded function.

An update V 1.0 with 3 deployments, a client is only in one of the groups.

Group 1 available 57 hours, deadline 3 days

Group 2 available 153 hours, deadline 6 days

Group 3 available 153 hours, deadline 20 days

Now a new update V 2.0 is coming out from the same program and replaces (Superseded) the previous V 1.0.

For group 3, the deadline for V 1.0 has not yet been reached. Would the client install the old V 1.0 version after reaching the deadline?

Or does the client say there is a newer version V 2.0, but the deadline or availability has not yet been reached.

In other words, if I received an update from a program every week and the old one kept getting replaced, would the client never install an update?

Thanks

    Hi, @Jens

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

If the V 1.0 show superseded in SCCM console after V 2.0 released, the V 1.0 will not be installed on the clients in group 3 when the deadline reached because SCCM will not install a superseded update. The V 2.0 will show in software center after the available time reached.

If you received an update from a program every week, will you deploy the updates with a deadline 20 days?
