When typing a character such as an 'r', the formatting is automatically changed to the right justified option. When typing a 'p' the print option is opened. What is going on?

    Hi William Wolfe,

Thank you for contacting us on Microsoft Q&A forum.

It appears that the keyboard shortcuts in your text editor are causing unexpected actions. Let's address each issue separately:

    1. Right-Justification Triggered by 'r':
      • Typing the letter 'r' results in the text formatting changing to right-justified. This behavior likely stems from a keyboard shortcut or an automatic formatting setting.
      • To troubleshoot:
        • Check for any inadvertently triggered keyboard shortcuts that alter text alignment. Some applications interpret certain key combinations as formatting commands.
        • Ensure that the "Sticky keys" and "Filter keys" options are disabled in your Windows settings.
        • If the problem persists, examine any application-specific settings related to text formatting.
    2. Opening Print Option Triggered by 'p':
      • Inputting the letter 'p' initiates the opening of the print option. This behavior may be due to a keyboard shortcut or a setting specific to the application.
      • To resolve:
        • Confirm that you aren't unintentionally activating a keyboard shortcut associated with printing. Certain applications utilize specific key combinations to launch print dialogs.
        • Review your system or application preferences for any custom keyboard shortcuts.
        • If using Microsoft Word, ensure there are no conflicting keyboard shortcuts related to printing.
        • If the issue persists, try using a different keyboard to eliminate any potential hardware-related issues.

Remember to examine both system-wide keyboard shortcuts and application-specific settings to pinpoint the cause of these behaviors. Consult the documentation for your particular application to understand its default keyboard shortcuts and make adjustments as needed.
