Helllo @Mir Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!

From the details provided, I understand that you are trying to migrate your VM to Azure using Azure Migrate and getting an error message "The requested action couldn't be performed by the replication provider".

First thing, please ensure that all the pre-requisites are met - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix#azure-vm-requirements

Secondly, the error message is generic. Usually, this error occurs due to firewall or proxy blocking access. Ensure there are no such blockers. If you are sure there is no networking issue, Uninstall the older version of the mobility service (Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall the ASR Mobility Service) Reboot the server and retry the operations.

    Reference link - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-mobility-service-overview#install-mobility-agent-through-ui

    Troubleshooting guide - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/vmware/troubleshoot-changed-block-tracking-replication?context=%2Fazure%2Fmigrate%2Fcontext%2Fvmware-context

Note: Sometimes even the policies that you define for your subscription also impacts and ends up with the error that you received. See a similar discussion here - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1486972/azure-migrate-initial-replication-failing-installi

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes!

    Hey,

Are you trying to migrate VMware Workstation VM? I don't think it is supported. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/migrate-appliance

As for ESXi, you should also check the following tutorial.
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/vmware/tutorial-migrate-vmware

Might also help with troubleshooting: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-azure-troubleshoot-replication#step-3-troubleshoot-source-machines-that-arent-available-for-replication

As another option, you can use StarWind V2V to migrate VMs to Azure from ESXi.
