Microsoft team channel permissions based on security groups

Hey all,

I built a SharePoint site that uses a Microsoft Team via Microsoft Teams with several channels. The idea is that the teams channels interacts with the sharepoint site and allows for communication to a general channel and their respective private channel. I had intended for each channel to be governed by their respective security group. I had established all the security groups and I was prepared to set permissions for every channel.

However, I can't seem to use a security group created in Azure portal to add members for a teams channel. Based on further research, this may not be possible.

I am asking if there is any way to do some kind of dynamic membership of channels in teams (that can also control access to specific resources in sharepoint). This is for an enterprise environment and a channel's membership would vary often throughout the year.

Thank you all very much.

For controlling access to resources in SharePoint based on Teams channel membership, you can leverage SharePoint permissions and Office 365 Group membership. By default, each Team in Microsoft Teams has a corresponding SharePoint site, and members of the Team are granted access to the associated SharePoint resources based on their membership in the Office 365 Group. In the SharePoint, after uploading the file, right click and manage access. You can try this way to alloww either for people can only read or edit.
