Requirement for all users to MFA - forced from Microsoft

Question

Hi all,

I was reading this https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/core-infrastructure-and-security/bg-p/CoreInfrastructureandSecurityBlog Would this affect edu tenants?

Will this mean that students even in lower years would need to MFA? They dont allow phones in classes or these students may not even have a phone. Its abit worrying if this update includes Edu tenants.
