Good morning,
I have a major performance issue with ISCSI initiaior on Windows 2019 datacenter.
I am migrating a Hyper-V cluster from windows 2012R2 to 2019. In my scenario, I have multiple Dell PE740s and one Dell EMC Compellent SC5020.
These PE740 nodes have a read and write rate of 1200MB / sec when on windows 2012R2.
Those same nodes, reinstalled in windows 2019, with the same configuration lower the performance to 200MB / sec in writing and 600MB / sec reading. The write rate often drops to 20MB / sec.
Taken actions:
- Update firmware / driver from Nics 10gbps
- Update OS win2019
- Open support cases with Dell / DellEMC, in both cases they confirm that the hardware has no problems. They recommend opening a case with MS.
- Apply registry recommendations for performance: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_software/esuprt_it_ops_datcentr_mgmt/general-solution-resources_white-papers3_en-us.pdf
The MPIO, iSCSI and NICS configurations (jumbo packets, etc) are the same for a win2012 and win2019 node.
I am not seeing error events in eventvwr.
I would like to know if it is a known error and that you can help me understand how to solve it.
Thank you!
