I am working in a Synapse Analytics workspace that has a managed Vnet. When I try to create an event trigger I receive the following error: "Failed to subscribe to storage events for event trigger: Source_DailyReport_EventTrigger ". I have successfully created event triggers in an environment that does not use a Vnet. Are there any known issues with the use of event triggers in synapse workspace where a Vnet is enabled?

There are two things I would like you to check:
Do you have owner role on the storage account which you are having trouble setting the trigger on?
In the Vnet Synapse, try creating an Event trigger using the storage account the other Synapse was able to connect successfully to.
For 2. the goal is to determine whether this difficulty is because of the Vnet, or some issue with the storage account.
If both the Vnet Synapse and the non-Vnet synapse can connect to the same storage account and make event triggers successfully, then the Vnet is not the cause. (I am assuming they are in the same tenant)
If, all other things being equal, the same storage account can be sebscribed to only by the non-Vnet synapse, and not the Vnet synapse, then the Vnet is likely the complication.

Do you have owner role on the storage account which you are having trouble setting the trigger on? Yes, I do have the owner role. The one caveat is that I am a guest user in the environment in question.
In the Vnet Synapse, try creating an Event trigger using the storage account the other Synapse was able to connect successfully to. Unfortunately, I am unable to do this back the storage account that originally was successful. These are in two different tenants.
