How to find data sources still using the Data Collector API in light of the upcoming deprecation.

With the Data Collector API deprecation coming up in 2026, how can I find data sources still using it? I have a lot of data sources and scouring each one for the HTTP endpoints it uses would be difficult. Is there any query, or somewhere to look within Log Analytics to find things still using this?

@D.M, Apologies for the delayed response. I reviewed this issue further and the identification of the source of log in this case would depend on the data/record being sent to LA workspace. For example, if your record contains a field for storing the sourceComputer name, IP or other identifiable information, you could use that to identify the source of the record getting ingested in LA workspace.

Therefore, I would suggest reviewing the tables (with name ending in _CL) to which the Data Collector API is sending data and reviewing the fields which might give information about the source of log.

There is no other way from LA workspace as it serves the purpose of storage/analytics platform for the logs and what it stores would depend on what is sent to it.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
