Dear Team,

We have SCCM infrastructure with running 10 DP server 2k12 running which is EOL. For this we have configured 10 new DPs with server 2k22 version. Now the challenge is old DP has huge content and we would like to copy all the content to new DPs.

Please suggest best method to copy the content (application, packages, Task Sequence, updates, driver packages etc. from old DPs to new DPs.

    Hi,

Transferring content from old Distribution Points (DPs) to new DPs in an SCCM infrastructure involves a few steps. Here’s a general approach you can follow:

Add the new DPs to the Distribution Point Group: If your old DPs are part of a Distribution Point Group, add the new DPs to the same group. This will automatically start the distribution of content to the new DPs.

If your old DPs are not part of a Distribution Point Group, you’ll need to manually redistribute the content.

Prestaged content is a compressed file that contains the content files and associated metadata for a content type. You can then manually import this content to another site server, a secondary site, or a distribution point.
