Hi everyone,

we want to update the Windows 10 20H2 image to Windows 10 22H2 using DISM command

When run the dism command

dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:C:\Image_Source\image.wim /index:1

on the W10 20H2 WIM I receive this value:

See JPG image 20H2 in attach file 20H2.jpg

"Version : 10.0.19041"

same result when I run DISM using a Windows 10 22H2 wim

See JPG image 22H2 in attach file 22H2.jpg

"Version : 10.0.19041"

We know that the core is Windows 2004 (19041), but is there a way to update the version of the WIM Image to 19045 starting from the Windows 10 20H2 or Windows 10 22H2 ?

I've already tried with the latest patches for 20H2 and then running the enablement package but maybe I'm doing something wrong.

For the 22H2 instead I put the latest cumulative but it didn't work

any help is appreciated

grazie

    Hi Francesco,

Thanks for your post. Before updating to Windows 10, version 22H2 using an enablement package, you must be running Windows 10, version 2004, 20H2, or 21H1. You must have the following prerequisites installed before applying this update:

Also, please use the recommended ways to do the upgrade:

    1. Windows Update and Microsoft Update

This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. The update is named Feature Update to Windows 10, version 22H2.

    2. Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

This update will automatically synchronize with WSUS if you configure Products and Classifications as follows:

    Product: Windows 10

    Classification: Upgrades

Reference: KB5015684: Featured update to Windows 10, version 22H2 by using an enablement package - Microsoft Support

    Best Regards,

I would not update your 20H2 WIM to 22H2, I would replace it with a 22H2 WIM from VLSC.

Doing offline servicing to update WIMs from one Version to another (20H2 -> 21H2 -> 22H2) is not something you'd want to do, I don't think it's even possible.

Get the OS Version you want (22H2), and apply CU's to it to get it current, then deploy with ConfigMgr.
