I have a brand new computer and I'm trying to get a Hyper-V virtual machine up and running but i keep getting the error, "Cannot Connect to the Virtual Machine". I have enabled virtualization in the BIOS. I can see the machine in the Hyper-V Manager window boot up, but cannot connect to it. I have also created internal and external switches. I've tried multiple operating systems all with the same result. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

    Hi AdrianeS,

    Hope you're doing well.

    1. Check Hyper-V Services

Open "Services" and check if the following services are running:

    (1) Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management

    (2) Hyper-V Host Compute Service

    (3) Hyper-V Guest Service Interface

    1. Open "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" and create inbound and outbound rules for "vmconnect.exe".
    2. Ensure your user account has the necessary permissions to manage Hyper-V.
    3. Go to "Hyper-V Settings" and ensure Enhanced Session Mode is enabled for both the server and user.
    4. In addition, maybe you can try restalling the Hyper-V role to resolve this issue.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
