@MS-5605,

From Microsoft Teams side, it needs no special DNS records.

From Office 365 side, you can follow Leon’s reply.

Besides, if you purchased a domain from a third-party hosting provider, you can connect it to Microsoft 365 by updating the DNS records in your registrar’s account. For more details, please refer to this article.

Hi Sharon,

Thank you for the information. IF we host only TEAMS, does it required any SFBO DNS srv records for federated users who might be using SFB to contact our TEAMS users?

Thank you so much.

Regards,
MS

It needs to enable your organization to communicate with another Teams or Skype for Business organizations in Microsoft Team admin center. For more details, please refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/manage-external-access#allow-or-block-domains.

Besides, you can learn more about coexistence of Teams and Skype for Business by this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-and-skypeforbusiness-coexistence-and-interoperability.

Hi @MS-5605,

Every Office 365 customer needs to add two records to their external DNS. The first CNAME record ensures that Office 365 can direct workstations to authenticate with the appropriate identity platform. The second required record is to prove you own your domain name.

You'll find more information over here:

External Domain Name System records for Office 365
