Pin workbook in the shared dashboard

Hello,

I wanted to pin a workbook from Azure Monitor to shared dashboard.

I'm able to pin the workbook to the shared dashboard. However, in the dashboard, the workbook is not seamlessly integrated. I have to click on the widget which has the workbook and then it takes to the actual workbook.

My requirement is to see the workbook I'm seeing in Azure Monitor in the dashboard as well. See attached screenshot.

The workbook I'm seeing in the Azure Monitor is like below,

When I pin the workbook to my dashboard, I'm seeing as below :

However, I should be able to see the workbook in the dashboard as I'm seeing in the Azure Monitor view. Is it possible to get the view in the dashboard by any settings change?

Thanks,
Prasenna

Hi,

I want to pin a selected query from workbook to a shared dashboard and it is completely fine other than the time range. When I pin a query to a dashboard, whatever the time range is set in the workbook is set as the constant time range, even though I have not added the time range in the query. Your valuable insights will be really helpful for me. Thanks in advance.

I have managed to edit the workbook and pin only the queries in the dashboard as above. I selected "Pin All" and done pinning. I'm able to see the data in the dashboard and I'm not seeing the shortcut. However, I'm unable to select the individual resource for the data insights inside the workbook in the dashboard, the widget is not getting refreshed.

For instance, I have pinned the VM Insights workbook from Sentinel to the dashboard by clicking "Pin All". VM names will be listed in a drop down and when selecting a specific VM, another widget displays the data specific to the VM.

Hi @PrasennaKannan-4219,

Glad to know that you have found "Pin All" option!

As shown in below screenshot I have tried to reproduce the issue so have pinned the VM insights workbook from Sentinel to the dashboard by clicking "Pin All" but couldn't observe any widget with VM names in a drop down pattern so can you provide few screenshots (by obfuscating any PII or secure information) so that it helps to better understand the context of the issue.

IIn the above screenshot, I have edited the workbook VM Insights from Sentinel. You can see that, the user can select the VM's from the dropdown and after the selection, the insights for the selected VM's are displayed in the other widgets. This is well and good at the workbook level.

When the VM Insights workbook is pinned with "Pin All" option to the dashboard, I'm able to select the VM but the data for the selected VM is not getting displayed. The dashboard displays the default data. This is because, from the widget, the data is not getting passed to the other widgets to display the data.

My requirement is, in the dashboard the user should be able to select the VM in the dropdown so that, the data for the selected VM is displayed in the other widgets.

Thanks!
