Azure Labs Services - Long run of creating virtual machine

I create a VM template in a lab, and then create 24 VMs in VM pools at 2020-12-04 around 17:30 (UTC+8)
However, up to this moment, some of the VM are still creating. But interesting that there are no way to stop the process, it get stuck~

My lab lesson will be conduct on tomorrow morning (2020-12-06 11:00 UTC+8). I need to create another lab and then config the template again!!!!

Just to report this bugs.

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

Thank you very much for reporting this. I'm going to look into this further. Was the second deployment successful? How long was deployment in progress?

@cyrus822 I wasn't able to reproduce the issue you saw, but I've reported this to the product team so that they are aware of the issue. Thank you again for reporting this! If you run into this again please let us know and we can resolve your lab issue for you.

Additionally, it is possible to export your template VM as a Shared Image Gallery image. This would make it easy to create your template VM again if needed. You can refer to our documentation for more information:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/lab-services/how-to-attach-detach-shared-image-gallery

In general, your deployment should be similar to my deployment depending on when and where you publish your lab:

  • Created a Win 10 Pro template (finished within 20 minutes as noted in the portal)

  • Published the lab with a capacity of 12 machines (finished within 30 minutes)

This is happening for my co worker and I right now. Why is it so slow to create and publish these machines. Also simple start and stop takes so long. Even changing a password takes a while. Spin spin spin. This exercise we are going through is taking a long time. My colleague and I wonder why this takes so long when Azure VM's don't take that long and neither do VMWare machines but labs with azure is so slow.

Thanks,

Lisa

@LisaVeneriStewart-6791, thank you for the feedback. What kinds of times are we talking about when you create, publish, and start/stop?
