Microsoft Teams requiring audio and video selections each time I join a call

Each time I join a Microsoft Teams meeting, it is now requiring me to select my audio and video settings.

Having the same experience for the past week and it has not resolved itself. I've always had (and still do have) default comm devices set and I have no video by default - yet Teams now asks me every. single. time. Very annoying - just let me into the dang meeting!

Hi @FreckAshley-8055,

It seems to be by design.

Indeed, you can choose the audio and video selections before join the meeting each time. I did a test in my Teams client and it has the same phenomenon. The version is 1.3.00.33674(64-bit). However, in the 1.3.00.28779 version, it will show like the following picture:

Found the answer in another forum - turns out it's on the roadmap and now in the wild. Still don't like it

Having to pass through a pre-join screen is just annoying. It just adds another step/resistance to joining a meeting that is totally unnecessary, and not required by other conference call systems.

I really wish they can consider saving the default options and using them each time instead.

Pre-join screen should be optional.

Incredibly annoying to click "Join Online" from within Outlook only to discover I'm not actually in the meeting and have to click another button ("Join Now") that had no value.

On EVERY meeting. Multiple times a day.

Incredible inefficiency driver.

I agree that every time I join a meeting I have to select the audio settings and click Join again is annoying and unnecessary. I already clicked join, so please just pass me into the meeting and use my default audio/video settings. This would save so much time! Not to mention the times when I've forgotten to click Join the second time on the audio screen!

IMO this just got 10x worse. After the hassle of the above screen, my teams setup now defaults with both the speaker and microphone of meeting window with BOTH muted. It's great to mute the microphone but not the speaker!! . So after joining a call I now need to click the microphone unmute, click in a dialog box to hear anything, and then click in the microphone again to mute my mic once again. (MSFT PLEASE FIX THIS)

If anyone know away around this latest twist please advise.
