GPO question: Preventing Kiosks from sleeping or display from turning off

We are currently rolling out our GPO's and have kiosks that need to remain on at all times.

  • Option 1: We have tested by removing GPO's related to screensaver - the issue is that when upon waking the computer by pressing a key or moving the mouse it requires a password to log back in (this would potentially work if didn't require a password to log back in)

  • Option 2: Prevent the display from turning off and remain on until we physically turn it off

  • We would like to push out GPO's and then create an exception so the kiosk stays on

  • Is there a setting that would prevent entering a password when waking the computer?

  • Is there a setting that would prevent the display from turning off?
    -Would appreciate any help.

  • Thanks

1,To prevent the Display turning off :
Find the setting "Turn Off the Display (Plugged In)" under Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management -> Video and Display Settings>
Change the setting to "Disabled".
Click OK.
Repeat steps to disable "Turn Off the Display (On Battery)".

2,If you want the Windows 10 never require a password when your PC wakes up from sleep.
Disable the following settings through group policy

Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Power Management > Sleep Settings.
In the right pane, you’ll see two policies labeled “Require a Password when the computer wakes (plugged in)” and “Require a Password when the computer wakes (on battery)“. Double-click on them to modify and set the policies to Disabled.

Update the group policy
