Can custom templates be set as the default when trying to create a new email in Outlook for Mac?

This feature is available currently in Outlook for Windows and I've been looking around to be able to set a custom template as the default template used when the new email option is selected in the Outlook for Mac application. Has anyone been able to successfully get this done?

Use the Organizer to move your styles from the custom template to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates/NormalEmail.dotm. That's the file that does default HTML formatting for outgoing email. Feel free to post again if you need the details on implementing this.

Thank you. I'll give it a try and let you know of the outcome.

Hi - I would love if you could provide me with the details on implementing this! I am using outlook for Mac and here's what I've done so far:
1. Created a template in Outlook and saved it to my desktop.
2. It only allowed me to save it as a .emltmp file, so I opened the file in text edit, then saved it as a .dotm file.
3. I then went to the file path you listed above, and deleted the existing file named "NormalEmail.dotm". I replaced it with my custom template and named my custom template "NormalEmail.dotm".
4. I closed and re-opened the outlook app and clicked New Message, but nothing had changed and it did not use my template.

Can you please let me know what I did wrong, and what I need to change? Thank you so much in advance.

Hi @eciadmino365-6083,

As I know, Outlook for Mac could not support the feature of changing the default email template when clicking the "new email" option yet. I also tried lots of tests in my environment and there is indeed no options for us to change that. I'm afraid that you could only manually open your email template to edit and send emails for now.

If you still have a demand to add this function to Outlook for Mac, we could create a thread in User voice, then other users will could vote on it for you, Microsoft may notice it and add it in the later version. For convenience, I have already created one here.

Hope this can be helpful.
