Recall a Message not sent by Outlook

[Original post]
Hi there,

is it possible to recall a message, sent through exchange 2016 but not sent by outlook? I think I know the answer but just to make sure.

The E-Mail was relayed per smtp from some software.

Thanks alot

Hi,
To my knowledge, the message recall feature is based on the client side (Outlook).
The Exchange server isn't able to perform a message recall by itself.
So it is not possible to do that.
