Cannot deploy my app services: Kudu down (503) for all of them

Question

Just noticed that my Azure Devops pipeline failed to deploy to one of my app service (WebApp for containers). Error message:

Failed to fetch Kudu App Settings. Error: Service Temporarily Unavailable (CODE: 503)

I opened the Kudu website (xxx.scm.azurewebsites.net) in a browser, and confirmed that it's down (Service Unavailable).

I checked the Kudu websites for my two other app services (also WebApps for containers) and they are also down.

The apps themselves seem to run just fine, it's just the Kudu that are down.

Summary of impact: Between 00:00 UTC on 12 Dec 2020 and 07:25 UTC on 14 Dec 2020, you were identified as a customer using Azure App Service who may have been unable to deploy site content through your kudu portal.

Preliminary root cause: We identified that a recent deployment task as the potential root cause, causing a required container image to be unavailable.

Mitigation: We replicated the container image in a fallback registry to mitigate the incident

Next steps: We will continue to investigate to establish the full root cause and prevent future occurrences.
