MS Teams screen sharing option not available Ubuntu 20.04

I'm using MS Teams on Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS x86_64, kernel version 5.4.0-58-generic.

I have installed MS Teams from apt package manager. Whenever I start a meeting and open the share tray, I'm not given any options for sharing my screen or any specific windows:

Another Ubuntu user I know has no problems with screen sharing. Whenever I boot into Windows 10, I get the proper functionality, so it's definitely not a meeting participant permissions issue.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling teams, along with removing its configuration files several times, the problem still persists. Previously I used an installation from a .deb file, downloaded from Microsoft's website. I had the same problem. I don't think I have any packages that could conflict with Teams, however suggestions for what to look for are appreciated.

EDIT: The problem was using Wayland instead of Xorg. Switching to Xorg solves the problem immediately.

    @msuserkrl ,

    Does this issue persist all the time? Or what changes do you do before this issue happened?

    Does anyone else have the same issue as yours?

    It recommends you try in another machine and verify the result.

    Moreover, Teams for Linux only supports for desktop, PowerPoint and Whiteboard sharing. About sharing single application windows, it is not supported now. I find a user voice about this feature. You could vote for it here.

    Microsoft will always focus on customer’s feedback and experience. Some new features would be added to the services based on customers' feedback in the future, and your good ideas will be very helpful for them to improve the service.

    Your time, understanding and cooperation will be highly appreciated.

    Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (kernel 5.8.0-44-generic, Wayland is disabled), Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.4855,

    I had the same problem until I uninstalled the proprietary Nvidia driver. I am currently using the open-source "xserver-xorg-video-nouveau". No more issues with screen sharing.
