What is the best file type to import data into Power BI?

I have the opportunity to put data into Power BI in pretty much any file type- which one is best?

I ask because I know that with Tableau, .hyper is the preferred way. Is there a similar file type in Power BI?

Thanks!

Excel can be a good candidate :
-The type of the columns can be understood from power bi.
- Size is 50 % smaller than CSV.
I am still looking for a better answer though.
