Server 2012r2 Step by Step for new physical NIC with Host & Virtuals

I have 3 Servers running 2012r2, each with 2-3 Hyper-V Virtuals and Graphic Interface on each host. These are now going in 3 different buildings so I'm changing to 10GBE in each and connecting buildings with 10GBE. I have added the 10GBE to each and the Host can see the new network card. Looking for the most logical procedure to use the new 10GBE in each unit and connect the virtuals to the new or modified virtual switch.
Create a new Virtual Switch? How about Static IP addresses? Use new or change 10GBE to same IP as 1GBE?

Hi,

Do you mean you add new 10gb physical network adapter to the Hyper V hosts, and you want to use the new NIC for the VMs? If so, we need to create a new External virtual switch and connect to the 10gb NIC. If you want to keep the origial 1GB network, you may keep the original NICs on the VMs, and add new NIC connect to the new External virtual switch, then configure IP settings for the new NIC on the VMs.

Thanks for your time!
Best Regards,
Anne
