In the folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\150\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20201229_002839, you find all log files for the install attempt. The best to try is usually Details.txt. This file is very verbose, but search on "cannot find the path specified" and see if you can figure out file that is referring to.

The log files path

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG

Ehum, there are a couple of errors here:

1. That path relates to SQL 2005. (And 32-bit version!). Manisha is trying to install SQL 2019.
2. And in that path, you find the SQL Server errorlog, but not the setup logs, which is what we need right now.
3. The folder for the log files were included in the output Manisha posted, and I have already pointed here there.

Hi @ManishaKumari-0005,

The error message "The system cannot find the path specified" showed that there are some files of SQL Server basic component couldn't be located. It is possible that these files are corrupted or the access for these files is denied.

I would suggest you downloading SQL server setup again from this link, running the SQL Server installation media as administrator. When you reinstalling the SQL Server, on server configuration page, please change the SQL Server Database Engine account and SQL Server Agent account to local System(NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) to ensure these accounts have enough permission.

If it is not work, try to uninstall failed components follow this blog and reinstalled SQL server setup as administrator again. Refer to this similar thread.

If they are not work, please check your SQL server setup log, please refer to View and Read SQL Server Setup Log Files. Detail.txt is usually the best file to dig into. The files are very verbose, but if you are lucky may you be able to figure out which file that could not be found.

Best regards,
Cathy

It is better to start a new thread than piggy-backing an old threads.

When you open a new thread, include your problem from start to end, and in this case, it helps if you upload the files summary.txt and detail.txt directly. You find them in the folder you see in the final message from Setup.
