not able to open multi instance uwp in windows server 2019

I installed a multi instance uwp in windows 10 and was able to open multi instance of that app.

I installed the same app in windows server 2019. It got installed but only one instance is opening . If one instance of app is opened , another instance is not opening. Few times I got File System Error when I try to open multi instance.

Does multi instance uwp work in windows server 2019?

If multi instance uwp works in windows server 2019, How to resolve the issue ?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Does multi-instance uwp work in windows server 2019?

No, currently, there is no document that mentioned that Multi-Instance UWP apps will work on the Windows server 2019. You could submit a feature request in the FeedBack Hub about this.

In this instance, how are we supposed to detect that multi-instance apps won't work? I can check to see if the UNIVERSAL API CONTRACT (note that first word) that contains the AppInstance object (6) is present. It is. The OS version claims it's 1809, which should support this (as per Microsoft documentation). What possible way could we detect that multi instance apps won't work?

@PavithraV-5914

You installed Universal Windows Platform (UWP) on 2 windows server 2019 and one system is working other one is not working?

UWP is one choice for creating apps that run on Windows 10 devices, and can be combined with other platforms. UWP apps can make use of Win32 APIs and .NET classes (see API Sets for UWP apps, Dlls for UWP apps, and .NET for UWP apps).

A common API surface across all devices
Windows 10 introduces the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), which provides a common app platform on every device that runs Windows 10. The UWP core APIs are the same on all Windows devices. If your app only uses the core APIs, it will run on any Windows 10 device no matter whether you are targeting a desktop PC, Xbox, Mixed-reality headset, and so on.

A UWP app written in C++ /WinRT or C++ /CX has access to the Win32 APIs that are part of the UWP. These Win32 APIs are implemented by all Windows 10 devices.

It support only in windows 10 devices.

check the configuration details refer the below link.
