Server 2016 disk management tool question

Hi all,
we mount a remote NVMe SSD into the server.
the server can get the remote NVMe SSD information.
but it shows we need to format this SSD.
because of that, I ran the format process on SSD.
however, the process doesn't work well.
it seems like it gets stuck.
so does disk management tool support for formatting a remote NVMe SSD?
